Gautam Gambhir is leading his home team against his previous team this season.

The IPL tussle between Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils will be a high voltage one as it involves years old confrontation. Additionally, Gautam Gambhir, the Knight Riders captain who exited the team is leading Daredevils against them in IPL 2018. This might turn as a strong challenge for Dinesh Karthik as he would face Gambhir, the person who place he is occupying now. Also, it is a home match for the latter and Eden Garden crowd would definitely expect a good play from their home team. While Gambhir would be on spotlight as the former captain of the team.

Knight Riders brought Prasidh Krishna into the circle as Kamlesh Nagarkoti was dropped from the IPL tournament. Now the team has Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, Nithish Rana and Dinesh Karthik himself at the top batting line up. While Mitchell Johnson, Piyush Chawla and Kuldeep Yadav would form the bowling ensemble.

On the other side, Daredevils are bolstered with players like Jason Roy, Rishabh Pant and Glenn Maxwell on batting front. Gambhir is as the spearhead to steer the team. On bowling, Trent Boult is the quick bet, while Mohammed Shami is a big name. Chris Morris was away from the team due to a sickness and his inclusion is yet unsure in this IPL match.

Apart from batting blasts, bowlers in both the teams are on spotlight. Sunil Narine has a strong record against Daredevils. His figure of 20 wickets in 11 innings is his second best in IPL tournament, the first being against Punjab Kings XI. Kolkata Knight Riders has been a better winner at Eden Garden, the sage which include a title win in 2014.

Players like Chris Lynn, Andre Russell and Sunil Narine in the combination would make match spicier. Meanwhile, Knight Riders coach Simon Katich is still banking strong on young players, specially bowlers saying young bowlers in his team are “backed” by the fact that they are in the team.
