Shahid Afridi took a hat-trick in his first three balls of the tournament.

There are several parameters, through which it can be easily determined that the first T10 league was a grand success at Sharjah. Among others, the houseful records at the stadium is an impressive feat of Masters Premier League tournament on its maiden formal season. The stadium had a capacity of 15,200 and matches went house-full on the last days of semifinal and final. This was an unprecedented welcome for organizers as total sell-out of tickets was almost unbelievable before the tournament. T10 was founded by Shaji Ul Mulk and Salman Iqbal, an India born, and a Pakistan born residents of UAE. The tournament turned out as a huge success despite skepticism.

Per Eion Morgan, England ODI captain, T10 format is the best fit for Cricket in Olympics.

Apart from commercial facts and success stories, T10 is set to erupt a new wave of cricket. There was a plethora of impressive cricket moments in the tournament. Among the greatest highlights of the tournament are the hattrick of Shahid Afridi in the first three deliveries he bowled in the second match of the tournament. A young Afghan bowler removed Eion Morgan. Also, another bowler from UAE broke the middle stumps of Afridi. These were the game highlights, among overall highlights, the visit of Pakistan’s ex-president Pervez Musharraf and wrestler Khali are on top.

The Six teams that participated in the game were supposed to include players as per their names, but little did the names affected in the tournament. For instance, the winners, Kerela Kings had no players for India. The owner of the team is a Yemeni. The England skipper heads the team of players from West Indies, Ireland, and Pakistan. As far as inclusion of players is concerned. Team two players from UAE is mandatory. The management, however, will increase this quota for four UAE players in each team.

Pervez Musharraf and wrestler Khali were among VVIP audiences in MPL.

There were several star players in the tournament. But the unofficial nature of the game could not attract the top names. Only a single player, that to a veteran, represented in the tournament. Virender Sehwag played for Maratha Arabians Captain. While most of UAE players in the tournament, didn’t even get to bat, owing to the short nature of the game. Rohan Mustafa, Ghulam Shabber, Saqlain Haider, Zahoor Khan and Mohammad Naveed were the top UAE players at the tournament.

In the T10 tournament, boundaries came up at flashy overs. Even if Sharjah has an average of 72 in T20, none of the teams in the recent tournament did score less than 84. The highest score in a 10 over inning was 132 for 1. Per Eion Morgan, bowling first is an ideal option in the format. He is the winning captain of the tournament. The player added, batting first might lead to low score, as there are less bowls and hence less time to try more. Per Rilee Rossouw, the West Indies striker, maintaining momentum in the format is imperative, despite of wicket loss.

From the perspective of audience, T10 is a grand success. Players participating in the tournament are highly optimistic. Furthermore, it is being expected that more players and teams would be featured in following seasons of MPL. A success of this tournament would forge a strong road way for cricket to game like the Olympics. Morgan highlighted the same, while Sehwag corroborated, the format is especially aligned with Olympics.
